3: All characters stick together throughout the game, and before each of the 20 missions you can select which character you want to play as. 4: Like DMC3 and DMC4 special editions. You play as a single main character with cutscenes. Then the rest plays through the same levels but with no cutscenes.
A. You're supposed to use JUMP to dodge. Jump over their attacks. Either that, or don't give your enemies an opening at all. B. Because combos are based off of directional inputs, and lock-on like a fighting game.

According to the developers information, you will need least Intel Core i5–4460 (or AMD FX-6300) and NVIDIA GeForce GTX 760 (or AMD Radeon R7 260X) and 8 GB of RAM to run the game on low settings. DMC 5 will require about 35 GB of storage and Capcom, developer of the game, strongly recommends playing it on gamepad. play 1 3 and 4 if you want to know the characters without just watching the DMC story summary you can find in the game, DmC is from another universe, but I personally recommend you to play all of them just to see the gameplay progression and get a feel of the characters in a more organic way than just reading the story, it makes it more enjoyable.
I have tried to play all of the other mainline dmc games except 2 at least like 5 times each, and it just feels so bad not having an iframe dodge you can use in any direction. I want to enjoy these games, and 5 is feeling super smooth and fluid during basic enemy encounters but bosses just kinda suck with no dodge.

Feel free to watch a plot video or retrospective or whatever, but the games dont have a whole lot to do with each other plotwise (barring a few glaring exceptions such as the ending of 3 leading to a recurring boss in 1), but I think you'll be fine even with no prior knowledge.
